Iran targeted U.S. military bases in the Middle East on Monday in retaliation for the U.S. military’s bombing of three of its nuclear facilities over the weekend.
Iranian forces targeted Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar, Axios reported, while Reuters reported that explosions were heard in Doha, the capital of Qatar. It is unclear so far what, if any, impact the strikes had.
“The White House and the Department of Defense are aware of, and closely monitoring, potential threats to Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar,” a senior White House official told the Washington Examiner.
Iran’s state TV announced the start of Iran’s “Operation Glad Tidings of Victory” targeting U.S. forces in Qatar’s Al Udeid Air Base.
