The U.N. General Assembly voted to support establishing a Hamas-free government for Palestine as part of a two-state solution to the Israel-Palestinian conflict.
In a 142-10 vote with 12 abstentions, the body approved the endorsement of the “New York Declaration.”
France and Saudi Arabia co-sponsored the declaration.

Countries who voted against the declaration included Israel, the United States, Hungary, and Argentina.
