Two Banks Issue Urgent Data Breach Alerts, Warn 69,662 Customers After Hacker Hits Third-Party Vendor


Two US banks are alerting tens of thousands of customers after hackers breached the systems of a third-party vendor.

In a filing with the Office of the Maine Attorney General, the Delaware-based community bank Artisans’ Bank says 32,344 customers are impacted by a cybersecurity incident at Marquis Software Solutions.

Marquis specializes in providing software for managing customer data, marketing and compliance, serving banks, credit unions and correctional facilities.

According to the firm, hackers may have compromised customers’ names and Social Security numbers.

“On or about October 28, 2025, Artisans’ learned that a third-party vendor, Marquis Software Solutions, had determined through an investigation that at least as early as August 14, 2025, an unauthorized third party had gained access to personal information on Marquis systems.
