The Washington Examiner’s Sarah Bedford questioned why President Donald Trump is denying a signature on a letter he allegedly gave to Jeffrey Epstein years before the disgraced financier’s first conviction.
President Donald Trump denied the legitimacy of a birthday letter to Epstein bearing his signature, saying Tuesday it’s “not my signature and not the way I speak.” The letter is part of the first set of documents from Epstein’s estate that the House Oversight Committee released last week.
Bedford, the Washington Examiner’s investigations editor, said Sunday it is “extremely plausible” Trump’s signature on the letter is valid, saying all the other letters “so far as we know” are authentic. She also said it doesn’t make sense why the Trump administration is spending this much time denying
