Trump to visit the southern border and greet Thanksgiving workers with Gov. Abbott

President Donald Trump and Gov. Greg Abbott, R-Texas, will hold a joint visit at the southern border on Sunday, Nov. 19, at 1:00 p.m. ET in Edinburg for what may lead to a possible endorsement of the president from a prominent governor.

The two will host the state’s annual pre-Thanksgiving tradition of serving tamales to Texas Department of Public Safety troopers and Texas National Guardsmen deployed along the border.

Abbott is allegedly vying to endorse the president during the event. Per Fox News, the governor was grateful for Trump’s endorsement in 2022, so he likely wants to return the favor.

Trump has consistently been the frontrunner for the 2024 Republican nomination, beating out Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and former S.C. Gov Nikki Haley
