President Donald Trump stated that the United States cannot provide Ukraine with “all of our weapons” after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky requested Tomahawk missiles to aid in the Russia-Ukraine war.
“We can’t give all of our weapons to Ukraine. We just can’t do that,” Trump said on Fox News. “I have been very good to President Zelensky and to Ukraine. … If we are going to be short, I can’t jeopardize the U.S.”
Zelensky met with Trump on Friday afternoon at the White House. The Ukrainian president floated the idea of exchanging drone technology with the U.S. in exchange for Tomahawk missiles.
