President-elect Donald Trump revealed his plan to replace Archivist of the United States Colleen Shogan once he takes office.
Trump’s announcement comes after the National Archives was at the center of the classified documents case against him. The case was dismissed by Judge Aileen Cannon in July.
“We will [have a] new archivist,” Trump said on the Hugh Hewitt Show on Monday.
Shogan was appointed to lead the National Archives after the department reported to the Department of Justice that some of the documents Trump handed over were marked “classified,” sparking the allegations that Trump had mishandled documents since leaving the Oval Office.
