President Donald Trump on Thursday published a request for Congress to enact various healthcare reforms through what the White House is calling “Great Healthcare Plan.”
A fact sheet published by the White House outlines that the plan is meant to lower prescription drug prices and insurance premiums for all Americans as well as maximize price transparency in the healthcare market.
The plan includes reforms to Pharmacy Benefits Managers, or PBMs, that act as middlemen between pharmaceutical companies and insurance plans.

The Great Healthcare Plan also would codify Trump’s Most Favored Nation drug policies that have enabled the president and the Department Health and Human Services to negotiate lower drug prices with pharmaceutical companies to match the lowest prices set around the world.
