Trump Exempts Smartphones, Computers and Chips From New Tariffs


It would be far too long to wait until they could be made in the US but that is the goal.

The Trump administration exempted computers, along with smartphones and other electronics, from its reciprocal tariffs. This decision, announced late on April 11, 2025, by U.S. Customs and Border Protection, excludes these products from the 125% tariff on China and the 10% global tariff on most other countries.
