President Donald Trump commuted the sentence of former gang leader Larry Hoover on Wednesday as part of a wider clemency effort involving over two dozen convicts.
Other people who had their sentences commuted include rapper NBA YoungBoy, sentenced over his involvement in a 2019 fatal shootout outside the Trump International Beach Resort in Sunny Isles Beach, Florida, a U.S. Army officer who refused to follow COVID-19 protocols, former New York Rep. Michael Grimm, who was imprisoned for tax fraud, and former Connecticut Gov. John Rowland, who was convicted on corruption charges.
A White House official confirmed the pardons to the Washington Examiner, noting that the Department of Justice will post the full list on its website.
