During President Donald Trump’s address to joint session of Congress Tuesday night, he made a huge announcement offering up some some justice to the family members of the 13 U.S. service members who were killed during the Biden administration’s chaotic withdrawal from Afghanistan.
During his lengthy speech, Trump stated that years later, the top terrorist suspect behind the 2021 Abbey Gate attack in Afghanistan that killed 13 U.S. service members has been apprehended and headed towards the “swift sword of American justice.”
The 13 U.S. service members — eleven Marines, one Navy corpsman and one sailor — were killed defending the Kabul airport, while hundreds of Americans and tens of thousands of Afghan allies were left in the country
