President Donald Trump was firm on his commitment to go to Fort Knox to check on the United States’s gold reserves after he backed the idea earlier this week.
In his remarks at the Conservative Political Action Conference on Saturday afternoon, Trump addressed a potential visit to the vault, which was boosted by tech billionaire Elon Musk this week.
“We’re also going to Fort Knox. I’m going to go with Elon. And would anybody like to join us? Because we want to see if the gold is still there,” Trump said.

He added, “Wouldn’t that be terrible if we opened it up into this and there was no gold there? So we’re going to open those doors.”
