The top Iranian official, who is reportedly speaking to the Trump administration about ending the war and opening the Strait of Hormuz, denied that the negotiations were taking place.

Iranian parliament speaker Mohammad ⁠Baqher Ghalibaf slammed President Trump’s assertion that the US had “very good and productive talks” with the Islamic Republic about ending the war.

“No negotiations have been held with the US, and fakenews is used to manipulate the financial and oil markets and escape the quagmire in which the US and Israel are trapped,” Ghalibaf wrote on X.
