Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady on Tuesday joked with President Biden about the accuracy of election results and alluded to the disparaging nickname “Sleepy Joe,” popularized by former President Donald Trump.
Brady joked that “40 percent” of people doubt the team really won the Super Bowl — likening it to election-fraud claims by Trump and his supporters.
Brady, a longtime Trump friend, said on the White House South Lawn that “not a lot of people, you know, think that we could have won. In fact I think about 40 percent of the people still don’t think we won.”
“I understand that,” Biden piped in.
“You understand that, Mr President?” Brady added.
