Tom Brady breaks own record after rookie card sells for unmatched $2.25M


The price sure wasn’t deflated.

A rare Tom Brady rookie card recently sold for an unmatched $2.25 million.

The sum fetched Friday night through online sports auction house Lelands broke a record for the sale of a football card — which was previously also held by the NFL star.

Another of his rookie cards had been purchased by Fitbit CEO James Park for $1.32 million on PWCC Marketplace last month.

“Tom Brady continues to shatter records both on and off the football field,” Lelands President Mike Heffner said in a statement.

The autographed 2000 Playoff Contenders Championship Rookie Ticket had an opening bid of $75,000 during Friday’s auction.

An anonymous buyer walked off with the prize after 67 bids were recorded.

“I wasn’t shocked (by the price), but I was certainly surprised,” Lelands president Mike Heffner told ESPN.
