Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) accused Gov. Kathy Hochul (D-NY) of failing to take proper action to protect student protester Mahmoud Khalil, due to his being Palestinian.
Tlaib went off during a House Oversight Committee hearing, primarily directing her ire at President Donald Trump’s immigration policies. However, she also directed some fury at Democrats, taking aim at Hochul.
“Gov. Hochul, sometimes I feel like because [Khalil is] Palestinian, you didn’t speak up enough, and I say that as a Palestinian American serving here in Congress,” Tlaib said.
