In the last few months, the Trump-Pence team has held a plethora of press conferences and “pool sprays” during which they’ve taken hostile liberal questions, while Joe Biden’s campaign has called a “lid” on the press many days and has “lidded” Kamala Harris from the national press since she was picked in August.
So it’s a little perverse that when Harris finally showed up for big-league questioning at the vice presidential debate, moderator Susan Page of USA Today gave her little-league questioning.
Allow me to list the most frustrating and/or feckless Page inquiries in order:
1. “President Trump has several times refused to commit himself to a peaceful transfer of power after the election,” she said.
“If Vice President Biden is declared the winner and President Trump refuses to accept a peaceful transfer of power, what would be your role and responsibility as vice president?”
