'There's no question': Psaki says sexism and racism have amplified criticisms of Harris


Vice President Kamala Harris is criticized more than her predecessors because of sexism and racism, according to White House press secretary Jen Psaki.

Psaki was adamant in her response when asked whether outsiders were scrutinizing Harris more closely because she is the first female, and minority, vice president.

“I do think that it is easier and harsher from some of the right wing who have gone after her because she is the first woman, the first woman of color,” she said Wednesday. “I’m not suggesting anyone will acknowledge that publicly, but I think there’s no question.”

Harris, who is of Jamaican and Indian descent, has “a lot” on her shoulders, according to Psaki.
