There is no ‘political will’ to rebuild California after the wildfires: Tiana Lowe Doescher


Washington Examiner columnist Tiana Lowe Doescher said Californians are still living in accessory dwelling units because the city and the county will not let them rebuild their homes, following the devastating wildfires

Lowe Doescher stated that approximately 600 homes burned in Malibu, and only 12 permits have been issued.

“There is just no political will to fix any of these places,” Lowe Doescher said on Fox News @ Night.

The January 2025 California wildfires killed at least 29 people and destroyed over 16,000 structures, burning over 50,000 acres.  

Authorities arrested Jonathan Rinderknecht in October in connection with starting the wildfires that devastated Los Angeles in January. 

Lowe Doescher criticized Gov. Gavin Newsom for committing to building affordable housing before rebuilding the communities destroyed by the wildfires.
