The cohosts of The View unleashed a scathing response Wednesday after President Donald Trump accused former President Barack Obama of “treason” and labeled him the “ringleader” of the Russia collusion investigation, prompting Whoopi Goldberg to call the allegations “dangerous.”
Trump’s claims were made Tuesday in the Oval Office, where he accused the former president of orchestrating what he called a yearslong coup against his presidency.
“This was TREASON.… Obama was trying to lead a coup,” he said.
On The View, Whoopi Goldberg didn’t hold back.
“A sitting president just accused a former president of treason. Now, do people realize how serious an allegation this is?” she asked, before referencing the recent Supreme Court ruling that granted broad immunity to presidents, suggesting Obama has the same immunity
