Gov. Greg Abbott, R-Texas, officially endorsed President Donald Trump in his 2024 reelection bid on Sunday, announcing his support for the 45th president at the South Texas International Airport in Edinburg.
His endorsement came just moments after Trump served up food and handshakes with nearly 200 service members inside the flight hanger, including members of the Texas Department of Public Safety and National Guardsmen.
The governor told a crowd gathered outside the hanger, “We need a president who’s going to secure the border. We need a president who’s going to restore law and order in the United States of America…we need a president who’s going to restore world peace as opposed to this outbreak of warfare under Joe Biden.
