Stolen Bigfoot statue found in California, returned to museum


Bigfoot has been found!

A 4-foot wooden replica of the mysterious, elusive creature stolen from a California museum on Monday has been recovered, albeit with a few dings, police said.

“Well some good news this morning,” Scotts Valley police posted on Facebook. “Officers responded to a suspicious figure in the roadway near Glen Canyon and Green Hills Road. Officers arrived and spotted Bigfoot! He was a little banged up but will be returned to his rightful place at the Bigfoot Discovery Museum.”

The unexpected find came just one day after the Santa Cruz Sheriff’s Office asked residents to keep their eyes open for signs of the 200-pound statue, which was stolen Monday from the small museum in Felton that’s currently closed due to the coronavirus.

“We are delighted to have our statue back,” the museum said on Facebook late Thursday. “It has been in our collection since 2003.”
