Speaker Johnson: ‘Confident’ Shutdown Will End by Tuesday

On Sunday’s “Meet the Press,” Speaker of the House Mike Johnson (R-LA) said he was “confident” the government would reopen Tuesday.

Host Kristen Welker said, “As we sit here today, we are in the midst of a partial government shutdown. So I want to start right there. The latest reports are that you’ve spoken to Leader Hakeem Jeffries, that he has made it clear that you don’t have Democrat support to reopen the government.
