President Donald Trump made eliminating DEI programs in the federal government one of his first actions when he returned to the White House in January, signing executive orders doing such. His administration has also threatened to withhold federal funding to states and entities that do not comply with the order.
H.3927 passed in the Palmetto State’s House earlier this week, which would prevent public entities, including schools and government contractors, from using DEI programs or hiring practices. Republicans have openly touted the legislation as following the president’s lead on DEI.
