'Shorthanded’: White House says Biden remarks on Georgia law taken out of context


President Joe Biden’s backing of a decision by Major League Baseball to move its All-Star Game out of Georgia in the wake of a new elections bill was taken out of context, his spokeswoman said, adding the White House won’t be urging further boycotts in states working to pass similar laws.

“He was not dictating what Major League Baseball should do,” press secretary Jen Psaki said on Monday. “That was their decision. They made that decision. And as he stated earlier, he certainly supports that.”
