Security rebuffs arrest of South Korean president after standoff with police


Federal authorities were forced to abandon their plans to arrest Yoon on Friday after civilian supporters and armed Presidential Security Service personnel outnumbered the forces attempting to enter the Seoul residence.

The Corruption Investigation Office for High-ranking Officials reported following the incident that “it was virtually impossible to execute the arrest warrant due to the ongoing standoff.”
