Schiff deems Trump’s National Guard deployment a ‘distraction’ from ‘big, ugly bill’


Sen. Adam Schiff (D-CA) claimed that President Donald Trump’s deployment of the National Guard gives the president “something to talk about” amid disagreement over the Big Beautiful Bill Act and his massive legislative agenda in Congress.

Schiff is among the growing number of Democratic lawmakers criticizing Trump’s response to the riots in Los Angeles, in which Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-CA) has vocalized his opposition to the president. The senator claimed that Trump’s “deliberate provocation” is stoking the feud between protesters and Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
