Rogue coyote attacks four people in California

A rogue coyote has been responsible for a series of rare attacks in northern California, wildlife officials said.

The most recent attack occurred Tuesday when the beast bit a 3-year-old girl as she was walking with a parent in Moraga, the San Francisco Chronicle reported.

“The coyote’s DNA profile is a match to the coyote responsible for the three other attacks that occurred all in the same vicinity between July and December 2020,” California Fish and Wildlife Capt. Patrick Foy told the outlet.

The same coyote also bit a grocery store worker and a man in separate incidents in December, as well a 2-year-old boy in July, the outlet reported.

Foy said the agency is now on the hunt for the animal after Tuesday’s attack.

Once the beast is caught, they plan to test it for rabies and euthanize it, he said.
