Riley Gaines shared text messages she’s gotten from female athletes in California who “feel helpless” competing against trans-identifying males in their sport, track and field.
The former swimming champion — who was deprived of an NCAA award by trans-identifying male swimmer Lia Thomas — said she’s heard from girls who were beaten by a trans-identifying male runner who took first place in a female sectional Meet of Champions and is now headed to the state championships.
“Just a few of the many messages (I’ve) received from the girls + their parents in CA whose sport (Track and Field) is being infiltrated with mediocre men,” Gaines tweeted on Thursday.
“They feel helpless,” she added. “How can you read these and think what’s happening is okay? (It’s) discrimination against women
