A former Navy SEAL from Ohio gloated about “breaching the Capitol” following last week’s deadly riot, new video shows.
The footage — posted on Facebook last Wednesday by 45-year-old Adam Newbold — shows the retired reserve SEAL special warfare operator saying he was “proud” of the siege by President Trump supporters, ABC News reported.
“There was destruction breaching the Capitol, our building, our house,” Newbold said on the clip, which has since been deleted. “And, um, to get in, you had to destroy doors and windows, uh, to get in.”
Newbold, a 24-year Navy veteran, then recalled the chaotic moments inside the Capitol as he traveled back to Lisbon, Ohio, according to the report.
“What did get destroyed, and they’re obviously trying to overcome now, again, maybe they just didn’t get the message,” Newbold rambled in the video. “Unfortunately, I’m hoping the message was strong enough. Unfortunately, maybe it wasn’t. I hate to see this escalate more.”
