Republican Governor Signs Legislation Providing Liability Shield For Pesticide Manufacturers


Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp signed a bill shielding pesticide manufacturers from some cancer-related lawsuits, becoming the second state to pass such legislation.

“North Dakota’s governor signed the first such law last month, and similar measures have been considered this year in at least nine other states,” the Associated Press noted.

The bill is viewed as a significant win for global agrochemical maker Bayer.
