Report: Tens Of Millions Experience Major Blackout In Pakistan


Pakistan experienced a largescale power outage on Monday morning, bringing to light problems with the country’s electrical grid.

Millions of people across the country were without power when a major blackout started at 7:34 in the morning local time. Authorities said that the power was back on in areas of Islamabad, as well as the nearby city of Rawalpindi, after eight hours had gone by, according to The New York Times. 

According to reporting from Pakistani outlet Dawn, the majority of the 220 million people who live in the country were impacted.
