Rep. Mary Miller demands investigation into Illinois schools over males competing in female’s sports

Rep. Mary Miller (R-IL) wants a federal investigation of Illinois schools over claims of boys continuing to be allowed to participate in girls’ sports.

Miller wrote a letter to Attorney General Pam Bondi and Secretary of the Department of Education Linda McMahon, accusing the Illinois High School Association of “undermining fairness in girls’ sports.” The Republican congresswoman cited “blatant violations of federal law and the rejection of biological reality as grounds for urgent federal investigation” regarding a decision the IHSA made to allow “biological males to compete in girls’ athletic programs.”

Miller said the decision prevented female athletes from having the right to engage and participate in fair competition without a legitimate risk of suffering injury due to the biological differences between boys and girls. Miller
