Sen. Rand Paul has made his libertarian-constitutional bona fides crystal clear throughout the COVID-19 pandemic: He has not been a fan of shutting down our economy by ordering businesses closed, people dispersed, and churches shuttered, among other acts of authoritarianism.
And now that Joe Biden and his COVID-19 ‘advisers’ are already floating the notion of a nationwide four-to-six week shutdown when the decrepit one takes office (provided the Trump campaign is unsuccessful in proving its vote fraud allegations), the Kentucky Republican is vowing to get in the way of that.
In an interview Sunday with New York AM WABC 770 radio’s “The Cats Roundtable,” Paul pledged to fight any such lockdown attempt saying we can’t remain in such a state “forever.” He also said the notion that some governors are already canceling “Thanksgiving” is “ridiculous” and “not based in science.”
