Staffers at some of England’s most prestigious drama schools groped students, used offensive language, and encouraged them to strip during classes, a new report states.
According to the Telegraph newspaper, a woman in her 20s said a teacher at the Guildford School of Acting sexually assaulted her in 2018 — and that administrators initially balked at taking action.
Other students at the Surrey school said staffers pushed them to appear topless or naked during acting exercises between the late 90s to as recently as 2015.
The newspaper also reported that students at the East 15 school of drama — which is affiliated with Essex University — said teachers frequently made sexual remarks during class.
A student told the outlet that she and her classmates were pushed to agree to shed their garments during thespian exercises.
