America’s 40th president, Ronald Reagan, spoke at the Arlington National Cemetery on Memorial Day in 1986. The speech reminds all us Americans to be thankful for the valor of others and how Memorial Day will always be a time to remember the “splendor or America” and never forget those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for their country.

President Ronald Reagan stated at a 1986 ceremony that Memorial Day is a day set aside to honor fallen heroes and to pray that no heroes would ever have to die for us again.
