A majority of voters are opposed to abortion on demand and support a 15-week limit on abortion, according to new national polling from the Susan B. Anthony List.
The poll found that over half of likely voters, 55 percent, say “they are more likely to support a 15-week limit on abortion when they learn that an unborn child has the capacity to feel pain.”
The pro-life organization’s survey of 1,200 respondents also found that 53 percent of voters are more likely to vote for a Republican candidate who supports a 15-week limit on abortion while 28 percent of voters would vote for a Democratic candidate who supports unlimited abortion up until the moment of birth. “Independent voters break strongly to the GOP side by a 54% to 18% margin,” the poll noted.
On a scale of 1 to 10, the poll found that of pro-life voters, 43 percent said abortion was a very important factor in deciding their vote
