A plane crashed into a neighborhood near a California high school, burst into a fireball and left at least two houses destroyed Monday, according to reports.
Witnesses described hearing a enormous boom as the aircraft slammed into the homes and exploded in the city of Santee just after noon.
“Yeah, we just heard a deafening crash and I saw this huge fireball,” one Twitter user wrote.
“The fire department is on the way;” the witness added, along with a photo of huge flames and black smoke pouring from a garage in a nearby residence on North Magnolia Avenue. “I’m praying no one was inside but nobody knows for sure.”
