Superstar Pink said she plans to give away thousands of what she called “banned” books during her upcoming tour stops in Florida following legislation which prohibits classroom instruction about sexual orientation and gender identity in schools.
During an Instagram Live on Sunday, the 44-year-old pop star announced she’s teamed up with the PEN America non-profit organization to give away 2,000 books throughout her four concert dates in the state which she said are “banned.”
“Books have held a special joy for me from the time I was a child, and that’s why I am unwilling to stand by and watch while books are banned by schools,” Pink said in a press release.
