WASHINGTON — As leaders around the world continue to congratulate President-elect Joe Biden on his victory, the White House is pressing ahead with the belief that Donald Trump will have a second term.
“We’re moving forward here at the White House under the assumption that there will be a second Trump term,” White House trade adviser Peter Navarro said Friday in an interview with Fox Business Network.
Navarro’s remarks echo those of Secretary of State Mike Pompeo who on Tuesday predicted “a smooth transition to a second Trump administration” and come as Trump refuses to concede the election and his re-election campaign continues to fight the vote count in court.
“I think it’s really important, before people’s head explode here, to understand that what we seek here is verifiable ballots, certifiable ballots, and an investigation into what are growing numbers of allegations of fraud under signed affidavits by witnesses,” Navarro continued.
