Pat Toomey: Manchin ‘Got Taken To The Cleaners’ By Dems On Tax And Spend Plan

Sen. Pat Toomey (R-PA) on Sunday said that moderate Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) got “taken to the cleaners” by Senate Democrats by agreeing to their tax and spending package.

Appearing on CBS’ “Face the Nation,” Toomey said that Manchin was swindled by his Democratic colleagues into agreeing to the reconciliation plan. Toomey went on to claim that the Democrats’ package uses accounting gimmicks that they say will lower inflation, the same tricks Manchin previously opposed in “Build Back Better.” He also blasted Democrats for promising Manchin a pro-energy infrastructure bill but not including provisions in the current package.
