Former President Barack Obama took a not-so-subtle dig at President Donald Trump this week.
During an interview on the left-leaning “Pod Save America,” — a podcast hosted by several former people who previously worked in his administration — Obama critiqued Trump’s handling of the coronavirus pandemic, saying that “basic competence” among U.S. leaders can save lives.
“You might not have been happy with everything I did, all my policy choices,” Obama said.
“I didn’t eliminate poverty in America,” he continued. “But when we had a pandemic or the threat of a pandemic, we had competent people in place who would deal with it.”
