Obama rips into law firms, universities bowing to Trump threats at Hamilton College


Former President Barack Obama urged academic and legal institutions to step up resistance to President Donald Trump’s agenda during a speech at New York’s Hamilton College. 

As he spoke to a crowd of college students, Obama referenced the Trump administration’s high-profile effort to target antisemitism in public educational systems. Federal funding has been threatened and, in some cases, pulled from leading universities based on the White House’s belief that the schools are allowing antisemitism to foment during pro-Palestinian protests. Several students in the U.S. on green cards have also been arrested due to the Trump administration’s accusations that they have supported terrorists and participated in pro-Hamas activity.
