While most SSI payments are issued on the first of every month, November payments will be issued on Oct. 31 because Nov. 1 falls on a weekend this year. When the first of a month falls on either a weekend or a holiday, SSI payments go out on the last weekday of the previous month.
Beneficiaries are people with limited income who are either blind, aged 65 and older, or have a qualifying disability.
The amount recipients receive varies based on several factors, including the number of people filing. For instance, individuals can receive up to $967, couples filing together can receive $1,450, and essential people providing necessary care to SSI recipients can receive up to $484.
