A North Carolina man threatened to kill President Joe Biden and Secret Service agents in a series of disturbing phone calls, federal prosecutors said.
David Kyle Reeves, 27, appeared in federal court Thursday on a charge of threatening the president in phone calls to the White House switchboard between late January and Feb. 1, the US Attorney’s Office for the West District of North Carolina announced.
Court documents allege Reeves, who was arrested Feb. 5, told a switchboard operator he was “going to f–king kill you all” in one call he made on Jan. 28.
“F–k the White House,” Reeves allegedly said. “I am going to chop your heads off.”
A Secret Service agent then called Reeves to discuss the threat days later, only to be told by the Gastonia man that he believed he was exercising his right to free speech and did nothing wrong before hanging up, court documents show.
Minutes later, Reeves called the same agent
