North Carolina lawmaker questions ‘constitutionality’ of preemptive pardons going forward


Rep. Mark Harris (R-NC) knocked former President Joe Biden over the preemptive pardons he granted at the very end of his presidency, indicating that the process of granting these pardons could change in the future

Biden’s last few hours in power saw him grant preemptive pardons to his family, including his businessman brother James Biden, Dr. Anthony Fauci, and members of the former House Jan. 6 committee. Biden said in December 2020 that there was a possibility of President Donald Trump issuing preemptive pardons to the Trump family while also saying preemptive pardons would not be given to the Biden family.
