New York lawmakers get into shouting match on House floor


A pair of New York House members got into a screaming match on the House floor Thursday during votes.

Rep. John Mannion (D-NY) yelled at Rep. Mike Lawler (R-NY) to get out of the Democratic side of the House floor after tensions ran high following Sen. Alex Padilla’s (D-CA) removal from Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem’s press conference.

“John Mannion was entirely unhinged and unprofessional,” Lawler posted on X. “That was a shameful display that exposed his complete lack of temperament. No wonder numerous staffers have previously alleged a toxic work environment. He should go seek help for anger management — and f*** off.”

The Democrat reportedly confronted Lawler about the Padilla incident and urged him to stand up and “grow a pair of balls.”
