Netanyahu says Assad regime fell because of Israeli strikes on Iran and Hezbollah


Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Sunday during a visit to the Syrian border that the country’s strikes on Hezbollah and Iran contributed to the fall of Syria’s Assad regime.

Israel has warred with Iran and its proxy group over the 14 months since the Oct. 7, 2023, massacre, and Syrian rebels’ quick surprise offensive made any aid sent to the Assad regime have little effect.
