A National Guard vehicle on Wednesday collided with a civilian car in Washington, D.C., amid President Donald Trump’s federal takeover of the district.
The accident, which occurred early Wednesday morning, happened approximately a mile away from the Capitol at the intersection of 8th Street SE and North Carolina Avenue SE, according to the DC Fire and EMS Department.
The civilian driver sustained “minor injuries” in the crash, the department said in a statement. The person was trapped inside the car after colliding with an armoured military vehicle and had to be extricated by emergency responders.
