Missing 80-year-old hiker crashes press conference on his disappearance


An 80-year old hiker who went missing in England reunited with his family on Tuesday — by crashing a news conference his loved ones planned over his disappearance.

Harry Harvey was split from his hiking partner during a hail storm in Northeast England’s Yorkshire Dales on Saturday and officially declared missing the following afternoon.

More than 100 members of the Swaledale Mountain Rescue Team had been searching days for Harvey. He was feared dead when he was spotted on the trails by a wildlife photographer, who alerted rescuers, CNN reported.

Harvey then called his wife to let her know he was safe. He was rushed to the press conference about to start at a country pub called The Tan Hill Inn, where his family was going to ask for help to locate him.
